Projecto Comenius: News From Europe

The Comenius project News From Europe is a partnership project between 8 schools from different countries of Europe with the participation of about 896 students and 53 teachers. The project will last two years, over this period the students will explore the history, culture and geography of the countries of Europe, develop their oral and written proficiency in English and will learn to use the technologies of information an communication in their work. The project will culminate in the publication of a newspaper in digital format.

Beyhan Şenyuva İlköğretim Okulu,İstanbul(2010 Avrupa Kültür Başkenti)Sancaktepe ilçesinde bulunan büyük bir devlet okuludur.Okulumuz iki büyük binadan oluşur.Okulumuzda 1987 öğrenci ve 71 öğretmen vardır.
Proje ekibimiz iki yönetici,onbeş öğretmen ve onbeş öğrenciden oluşmaktadır.Öğrencilerimiz 7-14 yaşları arasındadır.Okulumuzda dersler sabah saat 9’da başlayıp öğleden sonra 3’te son bulur.
İstanbul Anadolu ve Avrupa olmak üzere iki yakadan oluşur.Okulumuz İstanbul’un Anadolu yakasında bulunmaktadır.Sabiha Gökşen Uluslararası Havaalanına yakındır.Sadece on dakikalık sürüş mesafesinde bulunur.
Bu projedeki başlıca amacımız öğrencilerin yaratıcı bir şeyler ortaya koymalarnı,eğlenmelerini,yeni şeyler öğrenmelerini ve İngilizce pratik yapmalarını sağlamaktır.Bunların yanısıra öğrenciler farklı kültürleri tanıma şansı bularak kendi kültürleriyle farkılık ve benzerliklerini karşılaştırma olanağı da bulacaklardır.
Biz,Beyhan Şenyuva İlköğretim Okulu olarak projede etkin bir rol almak ve “News from Europe Through a Newspaper” Comenius projesi ile yeni deneyimler kazanmak istiyoruz.Ayrıca Avrupa ile Türkiye arasında kültürlerarası köprüler kurmak istiyoruz.Bu projenin bir parçası oldğumuz için çok memnunuz.

Beyhan Şenyuva Primary School is a big state school in Sancaktepe,Istanbul ( 2010 European Capital of Culture).
Our school is consisted of two buildings.We have 1987 students and 71 teachers in our school.
We have 15 teachers ,15 students and 2 administrators involved in this project.Our students are at the ages between 6-14.The school starts at 09.00 a.m. and finishes at 03.00 p.m.
Istanbul has two parts: European and Anatolian. Our school is located in the Anatolian part of Istanbul. It’s near to the Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. It is only ten minutes drive away.
Our main goal is to get our students to do something creative, to have fun, to practise English in a meaningful way and to learn something new. On the other hand, they will have the chance to learn more about other cultures so they can compare the similarities and differences between their culture and other cultures.
We as Beyhan Şenyuva Primary School, want to have an active role in this project and also have new experiences with ‘News From Europe:Knowing Eourope Through A Newspaper’ Comenius Project. Besides we want to build intercultural bridges between Europe and Turkey.We are very pleased to be a part of this project.

Founded in 1986, Riga Zolitude Grammar is a school located in a quiet residential area only a stone’s throw away from the hustle and bustle of Riga’s centre. Teaching and learning at school is in two languages: Latvian and Russian. Our school is for children aged 7 to 18. There are a total of 112 teaching staff in Primary, Middle and Secondary Schools. In April 2010 Zolitude School will celebrate its 25 year anniversary.

Tika dibināta 1986. gadā, Rīgas Zolitūdes ģimnāzija ir skola kas atrodas klusā rajonā tikai rokas stiepiena attālumā no Rīgas centra. Mācīšanas un mācīšanās skolā ir divās valodās: latviešu un krievu. Mūsu skola ir bērniem vecumā no 7 līdz 18 gadiem. 112 skolotāju strādā sākumskolā, pamatskolā un vidusskolā. 2010. gada aprīlī Rīgas Zolitūdes Gimnāzija svinēs 25 gadu jubileju.

Loose Junior School is a large school in the outskirts of the county town of Kent, Maidstone. We have over 360 seven to eleven year old pupils and share the site with a separate infant school of 270 four to seven year old pupils. There are three classes per year group with 90 pupils in each year group. We are delighted to be offered the opportunity to work with other schools in this European project. We recently were awarded the International Schools Award and also have regular contact with schools outside Europe. Our pupils love to learn about other countries, sharing ideas and information with pupils of a similar age to make world-wide learning real. We are situated less than a one hour drive to London and are looking forward to welcoming all nations to our country in 2012 for the Olympics.

La Scuola Primaria Igino Giordani è situata nel centro della città di Tivoli. È frequentata da 396 alunni distribuiti in 19 classi secondo 5 livelli (dai 6 agli 11 anni); inoltre sono presenti 8 sezioni di Scuola dell’Infanzia con bambini dai 3 ai 5 anni.
All’interno della scuola esiste una diversa organizzazione oraria: le classi a tempo pieno lavorano dalle 8 alle 16, mentre le classi a tempo modulare dalle 8 alle 13,30 e un giorno a settimana fino alle 16. La scuola è aperta dal lunedì al venerdì.

Igino Giordani Primary School is situated in the centre of the town of Tivoli. There are 396 pupils in 19 classes of Primary school (five levels from 6 to 11) and 8 classes of Infant school(from 3 to 5).
There is a different organization about time at school: some classes work from 8 am to 4 pm, while others from 8 am to 1,30 pm and once a week from 8 to 4. School is open from Monday to Friday.

Borgerskolen er Taastrups ældste folkeskole og kunne I 2001 fejre 100 års jubilæum.
Skolen er beliggende I et roligt og grønt område i Taastrup, med kun 25 min. kørsel til København.
Skolen er 2-sporet med ca. 520 dejlige elever fordelt på 21 klasser, 4 gruppeordninger og 48 lærere. Herudover en skolefritidsordning, hvor 170 af skolens elever går, og hvor der er tilknyttet 26 pædagoger/ pædagogmedhjælpere.
Børnene er mellem 5 og 6 år, når de starter i børnehaveklasse, og kan gå på skolen til de som 15-16 årige går ud af 9.klasse.
På skolen går der ca. 60 børn med anden etnisk baggrund end den danske.
Vi deltager i dette internationale projekt, for at give vores elever og ansatte muligheden for det internationale møde og øjenåbner. For at introducere dem for et andet sprog og lære om andre kulturer, skolesystemer, sprog mm. ved udveksling af informationer, ideer, historier og nyheder.
Vi vil gerne give vores elever muligheden for at lære om deres egen kultur, ved at blive præsenteret med andre og sammenligne forskellene. Vi håber, at det spreder sig til et skoleprojekt, hvor mange kan profitere af oplevelsen, trods at alle ikke vil være personligt involveret.

Borgerskolen is Taastrup’s oldest public school and celebrated its 100 years anniversary in 2001.
The school is located in a quiet and green area in Taastrup, with only 25 minutes drive to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark.
The school has 2 classes in each year with app. 520 lovely pupils in 21 classes, 4 special-needs classes and 48 teachers. Besides an afterschool where 170 of the schools pupils attend and where 26 teacher assistants are working.
The children are between 5 and 6 years old when they start nursery school and can attend the school until they are 15-16 years old and finish 9th grade.
Borgerskolen has app. 60 pupils of another ethnical background other than Danish.
We are participating in this international project to give our pupils and the staff an intercultural encounter and cultural eye-opener; to introduce them to other languages and learn about other cultures, school systems, languages etc. by the exchange of information, ideas, stories and news.
We would like for the pupils to be aware and learn about their own culture by being presented with others and comparing the differences.
We hope it to be a school project where as many pupils can gain from the experience, even though not all of them will be personally involved.

O Agrupamento Vertical de Escolas Patrício Prazeres fica situado na zona oriental da cidade de Lisboa, capital de Portugal. Actualmente, integra os Jardins de Infância de São e de Santa Engrácia, as Escolas Básicas do 1.º ciclo n.º 15 e n.º 21 e a Escola Básica Integrada Patrício Prazeres.

The Agrupamento Vertical de Escolas Patrício Prazeres is situated in the eastern part of the city of Lisbon, capital city of Portugal. Currently, integrates the kindergartens of São João and Santa Engrácia, the Primary Schools n.º 15 and n.º 21 and the Basic Integrated School Patrício Prazeres.
